I blogged a few days about the photo shoot I did with Fat Cat Photography and Andree de Villers as my lovely model.
The photos are finally up. Enjoy!
We started off just goofing around with our assistant, and practicing some well-needed stretches and poses while our photographer set up for the afternoon’s shoot.
Having only been suspended briefly once prior to our shoot, I started off with a fairly basic beginner suspension, Yoko Tsuri (Utsubuse) – Face-down suspension. We snapped a few shots, and seeing as she handled it quite well, I knew what types of ties I wanted to attempt later on.
The second tie I attempted was an Ebi Tsuri. I had seen a few photos recently (and attempted it during for self-bondage) to know that the tie was acceptable. The traditional shrimp tie looked beautiful while suspended.
I then tied WykD_Dave’s Senaka ni Tori, which I had reverse engineered the week prior. It turned out quite well, and I’m fairly happy with its progress in my first attempt at it being photographed. A huge thank you for WykD_Dave for his assistance. I hope I did his tie justice!
Having only done a few single-point suspensions myself, I prepped my model for a single point ankle suspension. She was eager to try it, and once I had her rigged up, she was able to hold it for about 30 seconds before we had to bring her down. We got a few quick shots it as she held up wonderfully! We had a rock-climbing rig prepped for the shoot, and were able to hoist her up and bring her down in a timely fashion.
I had tied a 3-rope Takate Kote on Andree before the ankle suspension and added one more suspension line and a leg tie before putting her up for our final pose for the afternoon. My variant of the Yoko Tsuri (Utsubuse), turned out quite well, and looking back at the pose, I would have added more decorative features – since she reminds me something of a sailboat. Something to keep in mind for future ties.
I’ve added a few candid shots from our shoot, just to give you a glimpse of how hilarious this wonderful team was to work with. Oh, the things you can do with models once they’re tied up and helpless
Overall, it was a great shoot with lots of future ideas thrown about! We’re thinking of doing some outdoor on-location shoots once spring hits. A huge thank you to the assistants and photographers. As well, a huge thanks to Andree for coming out on such short notice! I loved working with all of you – can’t wait till our next shoot!
